Yorkshire Mammal Group

Yorkshire Mammal Group is an affiliated society of the Yorkshire Naturalists' Union.  They hold indoor meetings with guest speakers on the first Tuesday of every month from October to May in York, and a programme of field meetings throughout the year.  Visit their website for more information.

Red Squirrels Northern England (RSNE)

This is a partnership project between the Red Squirrel Survival Trust (RSST), Natural England (NE), the Forestry Commission (FC) and The Wildlife Trusts (TWT). It s focus is surviving red squirrel populations in Cumbria, Northumberland, County Durham and parts of the North Yorkshire Dales.

Badger Groups

Since the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, specialist Badger groups have been set up to in conjunction with the Police and conservation organisations to monitor and protect Badger setts across Yorkshire. Details of Badger Groups active in Yorkshire can be found on the Badgerland website.

Bat Groups

Since the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, specialist Bat groups have been set up in conjunction with Natural England to monitor and protect Bat roost and hibernation sites across Yorkshire: West Yorkshire Bat Group, East Yorkshire Bat Group, South Yorkshire Bat Group and North Yorkshire Bat Group.
