Natural History Skill Development

The YNU provides excellent opportunities for members to develop skills in all areas of natural history, from species identification and biological recording through to data entry and record management. Skills are developed through field meetings led by experienced recorders, indoor meetings including our AGM and annual conference, and the help and feedback given by our recorders in the verification of records.

We welcome opportunities to share our expertise and enthusiasm with others by supporting events organised by our affiliated societies and other natural history organisations in Yorkshire.  Please contact the Membership Secretary at This email address is being protected from spambots. The YNU delivers an annual introduction to field skills for students on Leeds University's MSc/MRes Biodiversity and Conservation course. We would like to thank all the YNU members who take part for making these events such a success!
