Events Calendar
Meeting Place: We will meet at Hackness Village Hall SE967899 at 10.30am for a brief introduction before dividing into groups and moving off to record different parts of the site. Maps will be provided with parking locations and suggestions for areas to record. The hall itself will be in use by another group, but we have been given permission to park and use the toilets. A shelter and Portaloo will be provided at Hazel Head car park SE983875 for use during the day.
Maps: 1:50 000 Landranger Sheet: 101 Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey; 1:25 000 Explorer Sheets: OL27 North York Moors Eastern Area.
Tea and Meeting: This will be held at 4pm at Hackness Village Hall.
Moth Recording: There will be moth recording on the night of Friday 12th June and those wishing to see the moth catch should arrive early on Saturday and meet at the Hazel Head car park SE983875. This will also be the meeting point for those setting out moth traps on Friday evening. Although this is a one-day meeting, members who cannot attend are welcome to explore the site on another day and submit their contribution to the Excursion Report through the Excursion Secretary. The meeting has been arranged with the help and support of Scarborough Field Naturalists’ Society, Raincliffe Woods Community Enterprise (RWCE) and Natural England.
