The VC63 excursion will be to Denby Delf, Upper Denby, Huddersfield on 4 July 2026 meeting at 10.30 am.

Meeting Place: Denby Delf SE219072 is situated at an altitude of about 265m in the Pennine foothills. Going west on the A635 Barnsley to Huddersfield road, just east of Denby Dale, turn south on a minor road (B6115) signed Upper Denby. Go through that village to the church, and then turn right off the main road (effectively travel straight on) past a school and houses into open country. The reserve is on the right through double wooden gates. Park on the right-hand side of the road. Denby Delf is a 30 acre site owned by the Garganey Trust. Jeff Lunn, past YNU president and Trustee of the reserve, will meet us there. There are no facilities on the reserve.

Tea and Meeting: We will meet in The George, in the centre of Upper Denby. Car parking is behind the pub - take the little road below the pub and then turn left into the car park. Drinks and food are available at the bar. (Their speciality is pies!). The pub will expect us to arrive from 3pm, and we will hold the recording meeting there at 4pm.
